About the event
Theme 2026: Justice, Memory and Dignity
This events follows from our latest Films for Action documentary screening Cobalt Rush, which highlighted the many environmental and human rights abuses allied to the mining of cobalt in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
For nearly three decades, millions of brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and children have lost their lives as a result of war, displacement, and the exploitation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's natural resources. GENOCOST is a global movement that honours the victims, amplifies the voices of survivors, and calls for truth, justice, accountability, and lasting peace. This year's London commemoration will be held in the presence of patron Dr Deborah Kayembe, internationally recognised human rights advocate and former Rector of the University of Edinburgh.
Congolese Action Youth Program (CAYP) / GENOCOST Campaign Team encourage everyone to attend and to invite their families, friends, churches, community groups, and organisations…
