About the event
Join a community picnic at the Waterworks!
As part of the https://communityplanningalliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/260219_Day-of-Action_Campaign-Pack_Feb26.pdf, Save Lea Marshes are organising a community picnic at 1pm on 18 April.
The Waterworks has been under threat of development for many years. The intial campaign successfully opposed a proposed sell-off for housing by taking legal action.
The site has been chosen to draw attention to the now derelict Waterworks Centre - a place built for the community to enjoy the adjacent Waterworks Nature Reserve and learn about Nature - and now abandoned by the LVRPA.
Bring your own food and drink, to share if you'd like. Meet outside the closed Waterworks Centre (E10 7QB), and eat our picnic at the Waterworks Nature Reserve.
Do join the picnic, all welcome! (Please note no dogs are allowed inside the Nature Reserve)
