About the event

The River Lea flows through the heart of so many communities—offering space for nature, wildlife, and people to thrive. But it also faces serious challenges, from pollution and invasive species to habitat loss. In response, local people, community groups and organisations are coming together to take action.

The LoveLea Festival is a shared celebration of our beloved river. From Saturday 17th May to Sunday 8th June, communities all along the River Lea will be hosting events to celebrate and protect this beautiful, much-loved waterway.

Spanning three weeks, the festival includes a rich mix of events organised by local groups, residents, and organisations—from river clean-ups and paddling sessions to creative workshops, talks, nature walks, and community picnics
